Peperoni Pizzeria

6 Greenwood Avenue
Hillcrest Park
Tel: 6465 6556

If you're looking for a quaint, laid back restaurant that's child-friendly and serves impeccable Italian pastas and pizzas, we've got the place for you! The service staff are so friendly you could spend an hour talking to them before realizing you haven't yet placed your order!

We started off with the daddy of all mushrooms - the Portobello mushroom. It's an appetizer, but could very well be a meal itself! It's deep fried and served with chicken and rocket salad, with red wine sauce. Even if you don't like mushrooms, you'll LOVE this dish.

Peperoni Pizzeria cooks up unbelievably rich and flavorful pastas that will make you regret not dining there sooner! Jane and I had the Aglio Olio (pic below), which is a light pasta seasoned with extra virgin olive oil (unlike others which use skanky normal olive oil, this one's EXTRA virgin), garlic and chili. Honestly the best EVER
.

Next, we had the Vongole (pic below). It's pasta with sweet Vietnamese clams in white wine sauce (the sauce is so savory you might be tempted to slurp it through a straw, but don't cos that'll make you look like a dick).
The last of the pastas we tried was the infamous Squid Ink pasta (pic below). For all you veterans of this seemingly ominous dish, the one served at Peperoni's will force new standards upon you. However, if you haven't yet had a taste of this remarkable pasta, take if from a first-timer: it's DELISH! I had never tried Squid Ink pasta because I felt it looked rather daunting. And then I had a mouthful. It was rich and creamy and didn't even taste fishy at all! If you're going to have your Squid Ink pasta virginity taken, I strongly recommend Peperoni's!
This was before she had the Squid Ink pasta.

Now, on to the pizzas...

Pizzas served at Peperoni's are all thin crusted, so you can enjoy more of the exquisite ingredients they use. They prepare their pizzas in traditional wood-fire ovens, which cook at higher temperatures so you get your food faster!

First up, was the Suprema (pic below). Mozzarella, Shitake mushrooms, chicken sausage, onions and red chili are married onto the tomato-based pizza. We dare you to just have one slice!
Following the Suprema, was Jane's favorite - the Margherita. Comprising the best cheese you've ever tasted, this could very well be your last meal and you'd die happy. Seriously. There's something about melted cheese that's sexy. Maybe it's just me.

Having barely enough room in our tummies, we filled it with the Parma ham pizza. You don't know pork until you've had Parma ham. It's one of their best-sellers, so make sure you order it early! It's probably best to tell you here, that at this point, we were so filled with such extraordinary food, that we wanted to vomit so we could eat even more. Yeah, we're pigs. Sue us (no don't).

Not giving our stomachs any rest, we ordered their Sformato dessert (pic below). It's sort of like a firm pound cake, but made ENTIRELY OF CHEESE (we could not believe it was cheese) with a lemon cream center, topped with hazelnut and caramel sauce. Just describing it makes you wet... Haha you know what I mean. We forgot to take pictures before digging in...
If you're still reading this at home, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Call them NOW and make reservations! They're usually packed in the evenings, so if you intend on walking-in, head down during lunch. Best to make reservations, though.

Jane and I would like to once again thank Raymond and Amber for making our dining experience so finger-lickin' fantastic!
